  Discovery Flights
Cindtronix offers three discovery flight options. Each of these flights may be purchased via gift certificate online, on-site, or by phone at (401) 667-7580.
Each discovery flight option varies in duration: the Adventurer (30 mins), the Explorer (1 hour), and the Pioneer (1.5 hours). Click here for comparison table.
All discovery flight time is logable towards your Private Pilot License. This is an actual flying lesson and YOU will be doing the flying!

  Purchasing Gift Certificates
A discovery flight is the perfect gift for the aspiring pilot!
Requirements: There is neither a maximum nor a minimum age requirement for the discovery flight. However, the recipient must be a U.S. Citizen and must provide proof of citizenship at the time of the flight.
Expiration: The gift certificates expire after 6 months by default. Extensions are available.


$99 Explorer Discovery Flight

The Explorer discovery flight allows you to experience the thrill of flying firsthand. You will complete a pre-flight procedure with your instructor, along with a pre-flight briefing, then take to the skies for a 30-minute local area flight!



$199 Pioneer Discovery Flight

The Pioneer discovery flight allows you to experience the thrill of flying firsthand. You will complete a pre-flight procedure with your instructor, along with a pre-flight briefing, then take to the skies for a one hour local area flight!



$299 Adventurer Discovery Flight

The Adventurer discovery flight allows you to experience the thrill of flying firsthand. You will complete a pre-flight procedure with your instructor, along with a pre-flight briefing, then take to the skies for a 1.5 hour cross-country flight!

  What to Expect  
 
 ... Your discovery flight lesson will begin with a check of the weather, including the winds, clouds, and other important information, to make certain the skies are safe for flight.

    After being briefed by your Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) on the plan for the lesson, you will proceed to the airport ramp area, where your CFI will walk you through a complete pre-flight inspection of the C172 Skyhawk. Once the entire aircraft is checked, including everything from the fuel grade to the threads on the tires, you will seat yourself in the left seat of the comfortable leather cockpit.

    Your CFI will show you how to start the G1000 displays, set the radios, start the engine, and make a call to Air Traffic Control for permission to depart. Soon you will realize that taxiing an aircraft is somewhat different than driving a car -- you steer with your feet!

    After performing a "run-up" check to ensure the engine is running smoothly, you will taxi onto the runway, and apply full throttle! The airplane will quickly accelerate down the runway, and, before you know it, the runway gently slips away...you are flying!
