Advanced Ratings and Certificates

The process of learning to fly does not stop as a Private Pilot. We offer a full range of advanced FAA ratings and certificates. Among these are the Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot Certificate, High Performance/Complex Aircraft Endorsement, Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Rating, and Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Rating.

High Performance/Complex Endorsement

High Performance Endorsement
  • The High Performance Endorsements will allow you to fly aircraft with more than 200 horsepower. Cindtronix is the only flight school in RI offering high performance training. Our G1000 Cessna 182 Skylane will be used to give you the instruction necessary to receive this rating.
  • Complex Endorsement
  • To fly aircraft with retractable gear/flaps and a controllable pitch propeller, you are required to obtain a Complex Endorsement. You will train in a Piper Arrow (PA-28RT-201) to learn the nuances of flying retractable gear aircraft.

  • Instrument Rating

Four reasons why every pilot needs an instrument rating: (1) Safety. Prevent yourself from becoming victim to GA's biggest killer -- continued VFR flignt into instrument conditions. (2) Convenience. Weather can pose a special challange for the VFR-only pilot. Yet, with an instrument rating, you can easily and safely climb through cloud layers, allowing you to get to your destination without delaying your flight. (3) Confidence. In instrument flight training, you will not only learn how to operate the aircraft solely by reference to instruments, but you will develop precise flying skills and boosted confidence in the aircraft. (3) Understanding. Learn the full extent of the National Airpsace System, gain a comprehensive understanding of weather systems, and learn to talk to ATC like a pro. 12 Day Instrument Rating Couse. Short in time? Not to worry, Cindtronix offers a program allowign you to obtain your instrument rating in just under two weeks. All we ask is that your have completed your written exam -- our experienced instrument instructors will take care of the rest!
The instrument rating opens up many opportunities, training you to be a more precise and safer pilot. No longer will you have to cancel a trip simply because the clouds are below visual flight weather minimums.
The Cindtronix Instrument Program. Ground instruction is accomplished with our Cessna Computer Based Instruction system. Flight training follows the CPC instrument syllabus and is done in our new Cessna Skyhawk/Skylane and Piper Arrow aircraft, equipped with state-of-the-art Garmin avionics.
  • We offer a unique, integrated approach by incorporating 10 hours of Piper Arrow flight time and 5 hours of Cessna 182 flight time in your instrument lessons. This means that not only will you leave us with an instrument rating, but also a Complex Endorsement, required by the FAA to operate any aircraft with retractable landing gear/flaps and a controllable pitch propeller, and a High Performance Endorsement, required to fly aircraft with more than 200 horsepower. Not only will this time count towards requirements in more advanced certificates, but you will now be able to fly nearly any single engine aircraft!
  • Instrument training consists of the following stages:
  • Basic Instrument Maneuvers (BIMs). The BIM stage is similar to your initial Private Pilot training, when you learn turns, climbs, descents, and stalls, but now solely by reference to the instruments.

  • Navigation. Here you will brush up on VOR and GPS navigation, and learn about flying the ubiquitous "racetracks" in the sky -- holding patterns.

  • Flying Approaches. You will now put together your aircraft control and navigation skills in what is one of the most exciting parts of instrument flying, instrument approaches, which guide you down in the clouds to a safe landing.

  • Cross Countries. On your instrument cross countries, you will learn about navigation by the highways in the sky known as Victor airways. You will complete a number of these flights by filing IFR flight plans and obtaining a special clearance from ATC. A number of these flights will be flown in the Piper Arrow and Cessna 182, in preparation for your Complex and High Performance endorsements.

  • Test Prep and Checkride! Prepare for the FAA written and practical exams. Upon successful completion of a checkride with your examiner, you will now be an instrument rated pilot!
  • Flight Training Devices (Simulators). Using our FAA-approved ASA OnTop v.8.0 PCATD, you may opt to complete up to 40 percent of your total flight training hour requirements in our simulator.
    Part 141 Requirements:
  • Private Pilot Certificate
  • 15 hours of flight instruction
  • 40 hours of simulated instrument time
  • 50 hours of pilot-in-command cross country time
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate

Are you ready to take the basic skills you learned as a private pilot to the next level? Are you considering one of the many careers in the aviation field, such as flight instruction or flying for a major airline? If so, the commercial pilot certificates is the next step for you.
Commercial Training. Becoming a commercial pilot means much more than the ability to fly for compensation. You will focus on gaining a comprehensive understanding of aircraft systems, performance, and aerodynamics. Here are a few of the maneuvers you will learn that will hone your piloting skills:
  • Chandelles
  • Lazy 8s
  • 8s on pylons
  • Complex aircraft operations
  • What will I be flying? All of this you will learn in a complex category aircraft, the Piper Arrow (PA-28R), which sports retractable landing gear and a controllable pitch propeller.
    Part 141 Requirements:
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Hold at least a private pilot certificate.
  • 120 hours of training, including 10 hours of complex aircraft flight time.
  • Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)

As a flight instructor, you experience the joys of teaching others how to fly. Not only will you learn more about aviation than ever before, but you will also learn how to effectively transfer this knowledge to your students.
    Part 141 Requirements:
  • 25 Hours of flight training.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Hold at least a commercial pilot certificate or airline transport pilot certificate.
